Description

Because of their composite structure, skis are difficult to recycle and cause pollution. At the end of their service life, despite their excellent mechanical characteristics, they are incinerated.

Art Ski Tech transforms this waste into building materials for furniture (chairs, benches, tables, street furniture, etc.) and for geodesic domes. These domes are mobile, self-supporting structures that are quick to install and can be used as greenhouses, henhouses, homes, marquees or booths.

By using the know-how acquired through three years of voluntary work, the aim is to develop an economically viable activity to increase the volume of skis not sent to waste tips while creating employment.

The project is organized as a community-oriented cooperative society in three areas: collecting skis, manufacturing and marketing furniture and domes; applied research into the use of skis in the field of architecture; training and open source supply of manufacturing plans for self-builders, artists and DIY fans.
