This webinar will explore how local initiatives to implement renewable energy can contribute to the circular economy, with a focus on experiences in Latin American countries. Our panelist will share her insights on how citizen-led projects, combined with an appropriate regulatory framework, can reduce economic risks for businesses, reduce the carbon footprint, promoting less energy-intensive processes, and fostering local renewable energy production.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Valeria holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Iberoamericana and a Master's degree in Energy and Sustainability from the University of Southampton.

She has extensive experience as a regulatory specialist after working in the Mexican energy regulator. She developed and evaluated regulations related to disruptive distributed energy resources, including distributed generation, energy storage, demand response, and renewable integration.

Valeria is now the co-founder of Reverso Consultores, where she advises companies on implementing circular economy strategies. In addition, she is an active member of the Women Energy Network and a university professor of Sustainable Futures at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.
